About David Dale Heckman

David Heckman learned to talk at the age of 11 months, was telling stories by 13 months, and has been writing creatively ever since. Dave earned a Bachelors degree in Communications. He then became a Creative Consultant for Plarium Global LLC, a multinational video game company that makes free-to-play online strategy and roleplaying games. Over the years with Plarium, Dave also earned a Master’s degree in professional writing, achieving expert command of rhetoric, suasion, and those weird little symbols that copy-editors use.

For Plarium, Dave wields the invisible pen behind such universal favorites as Raid: Shadow Legends. If you’ve enjoyed the names of Raid characters, the names of their skills, or the new wave of character biographies being added to the game, thank Dave! If you loathe RAID’s constant ads and buyouts of your favorite streamers, thank the marketing department, Dave had nothing to do with that.

His other Plarium accomplishments include the word “Cities,” found in Sparta: War of Empires, and most of the creative work for Nords: Heroes of the North, a game that completely flopped. In addition, Dave provides to his employers words on demand, about robots, elves, hoplites, commandos, space marines, wizardry, SEO and CTR improvement, ads, player engagement, liveops, near-future autonomous lethal military drones, marketing strategies, ogres with magma skin, and user interaction.

And because writers gotta write, Dave has also conjured a steady stream of stories, blog posts, scripts for roleplaying games, designs and content for video games, and the written half of an ongoing comic book series.
